| Our policy is to publish no information on adult living persons other than names. This is for the purposes of privacy and to comply with the English Data Protection Act. We also publish no information in respect of minors whatsoever. This is purely precuationary to protect them as much as is possible from the undesirables which trawl the web these days. Where a female's surname is in brackets this means that her maiden name is unknown and her husbands name has been used. Where there is variation in the writing down of name of a person (particularly in early records) the earliest variant of the name has been used and also the English translation where names are recorded in Latin. The County of Hampshire is also referred to in old records as the County of Southampton. For the purpose of uniformity the name Hampshire has been used. |
